                                                                 IPL: CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS

The MI (Mumbai Indians) vs RR (Rajasthan Royals) match was a thriller of a contest. It was worth spending the big bucks if you went watching it. It was rare and a different kind of a game. Mumbai Indians put 187 on the board thanks to a sensational knock by QDK (Quinton De Kock) &am a supporting hand by Hardik Pandya.

Rajasthan were always looking in a comfortable position till Krunal Pandya got Ajinkya Rahane, breaking a stand of 60 runs. Then after two three brilliant overs Mumbai were back with a bang. Then a 12 run over & a 16 run over turned thegame in RR’s favor. Still the game was 50/50. Then one 28 run over by Alzarri Joseph changed the game.

The required run rate had dropped down to 6.5 per over. RR had got the game in their hands. Two more 10 run overs meant that MI had to defend 20 of 4 overs. Bumrah then bowled a 2 run over taking Sanju Samson’s wicket. Then Krunal Pandya bowled a 4 run over taking 2 more wickets. In the first ball of the nextover Bumrah took another wicket. Everyone was biting their nails. No one was moving from their seat. Bumrah conceded 8 of the  over leaving 6 runs for the last over. RR finished the game in next 3 balls.

Rajasthan could have cruised over the line, but instead, they only just wriggled over it. Some reasons of RR’s unsatisfactory performance in the end could be Bumrah Krunal’s fantastic bowling, RR’s complacency and MI’s team management backing the bowlers. Importantly though, they have got the win which they so desperately needed. It was Jos butler who once again protected RR from jaws of defeat.

Where do you think RR faltered why did they struggle to win from such an easy situation? What do you think MI could have done to win this game?
